A downstate drifter charged with killing 33-year-old Courtney Young earlier this month turned down a plea deal Thursday that would have required him to serve 20 years to life in state prison.
``I reject it,'' Dashawn Carter said during a hearing in front of Albany County Judge Stephen W. Herrick.
Carter, 27, of Brooklyn, insisted he didn't kill the popular auto mechanic and father of three.
Young was fatally shot on July 8 outside a South End bar, the Twilight Lounge, after allegedly tangling with the man police said had been bothering a female patron there.
